HIKES & SIGHTS

  • Mt. Mansfield (6 hrs) Vermont's highest peak at 4,393' elevation! Take Sunset Ridge Trail on your way down for panoramic views.
  • Hunger Mountain (4 hrs) 3.5 mile out & back trail with a panoramic vista of Vermont at 2,334' elevation.
  • Sterling Pond Hike (3 hrs) 2.5 mile hike into a gorgeous body of water surrounded by pine & spruce trees up the Notch Rd.
  • Stowe Pinnacle* (2 hrs) 1.4-mile hike to the summit of the Pinnacle, a 2,740' peak in the Worcester Range - overlooks Stowe.
  • Bingham Falls* (< 1 hr) Drive to 5785 Mountain Rd & park. Pack your suit & hike a short trail into the most surreal swimming hole & waterfalls in Vermont - a true lagoon.
  • Sunset Rock* (< 1 hr) Pull off Tabor Hill Rd and park - hike down to Sunset rock for a view of Stowe Village, Main Street and our Farm Home!
  • Moss Glen Falls* (< 1 hr) This is a short, scenic hike to a spectacular waterfall with swimming holes.

BIKES & BACKROADS

  • Stowe Rec Path* - Rent bikes from AJ's & hit the 5.3 mile paved trail with the whole family. The rec path criss-crosses arched bridges & the West Branch of Little River. Breath-taking mountain views and access to restaurants and local businesses make the bike path one of the most popular recreation assets in Stowe.
  • Mountain Biking - Famed trails for beginners and experts alike at Cady Hill Forest. Mountain bikes can also be rented from AJ's.
  • Cycling - Jump on your road bike or cross bike and explore the backroads of Vermont. Happy to make suggestions for looped routes!
  • Over the Notch!* - Jump in your car (or on your road bike) & take Mountain Rd past Stowe Mountain Lodge. Continue up & over "The Notch" bypass road traversing Mt. Mansfield & dropping into Smugglers' Notch.
  • Camping* - Detach from the grid and spend the night under the stars at Smugglers' Notch Campground.
